I have mixed feelings about a story in the news recently. Nevest Coleman recently got his job back as a grounds keeper with the Chicago White Sox after being wrongly imprisoned for 23 years for a rape and murder conviction.1 While I am very happy for Coleman that he was exonerated by DNA evidence; and I am happy he has back the job he loves and is getting on with his life; I am very angry that he was convicted…..
Here we go again. Evangelical church leaders just put out a statement on the biblical view of marriage and sexuality called the Nashville Statement.1 Interestingly enough; I agree 100% with everything in the statement. Last week, The Daily Mail had an article headlined: “Bronze Age DNA disproves the Bible’s claim that the Canaanites were wiped out: Study says their genes live on in modern-day Lebanese people”1 The article mentions Deuteronomy where the Israelites are commanded to destroy the Canaanites. The January 2017 issue of National Geographic features what is truly a very sad situation. Avery Jackson is featured as a 9 year old “transgender girl.”1 This is extremely sad on several accounts.
