On March 22, 2015, I posted an article “Senator Uresti Needs a Criminal Background Check!”1 Texas Senate Bill 204, which was passed in 2013, required me to get fingerprinted for a criminal background check because I am a licensed professional engineer. There was not any such requirement for lawyers. I made three attempts to contact my state senator, Carlos Uresti about this – two e-mails and a phone call to his office. He never did respond. Guess what his occupation is?
In my article, I discussed the great thing about the Law as given to the people through Moses, despite all of the criticisms, is it was revolutionary in that it was given by God and applied to everyone. It was not made up by a king and arbitrarily applied.
In a twist, I see that Uresti was indicted by a federal grand jury on 11 criminal charges.2 I do not know the facts of the case. But I do not Senator Uresti will not be able to ignore this like he ignored me.
