Last Sunday I was watching Mysteries at the Museum; and there was a segment on Czech Dream. Czech Dream1 was a documentary made by two student filmmakers – Vít Klusák and Filip Remunda – who stage an elaborate hoax. They have this advertising campaign for this new “hypermarket,” where you can buy just about anything. It sounds like a Wal-Mart Supercenter. Anyway, people get there and it is just a façade held up by scaffolding. The point that the film makers make is the people should have known better. The advertised prices were too good to be true. But people were taken in by the marketing campaign. And I am sure a lot of these people were very smart people.
This makes me think of the General Theory of Evolution – the idea that a “simple” single celled organism evolved into all of life on this planet. If people would just use the sense that God gave them, they would know that this is totally implausible. When you think about the extreme, integrated complexity of people, as well as animals, it just does not make sense. And we have not even started talking about things like consciousness and morality. But yet people are taken in. Why?
I think one reason is people are not taught anywhere that rejecting the General Theory of Evolution is an option. They are taught the General Theory of Evolution in school. Everything they see on TV, read in magazines, and see in movies promotes the General Theory of Evolution. Parents are not equipped to talk to children about this. And the church is totally afraid to take this topic on. So young people are left to believe that the General Theory of Evolution must be true. They either become theistic evolutionists; or reject Christianity entirely. In other words, people are the victim of a big marketing campaign – maybe the biggest ever. That is why we have gotten to the point we have in our country where people believe that two dudes can get married or a person can choose their own gender. They have rejected the Bible as truth.
But in the bigger picture as to why the General Theory of Evolution caught on in the first place, Romans 1 states: “For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to Him.” 2 It tells us “Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools;” and “They exchanged the truth about God for a lie.”2 Referring to Jesus, 1 Colossians states: “For in Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.“3 Whereas Lawrence Krauss, professor at Arizona States University states: “Forget Jesus, the stars died so that you could be here today.”4 The Darwinists have done a great job of marketing. And they want the General Theory of Evolution taught in our public schools as fact, without question. They know it does not hold up to scrutiny. And they call that “education.” I call it “indoctrination.” Fortunately, Texas did not go for that.5
