I often make the point that if you look at the world through rose colored glasses, everything will look rose colored. That is how the Darwinists are. No matter what the observation, they will find some evolutionary explanation for it. This is true of people having issues with their wisdom teeth. Scientists call wisdom teeth “vestigial” and use this as “evidence” for evolution.1 We must always remember that the General Theory of Evolution is that life started out as a “simple” single-celled organism and through random mutations and natural selection enough genetic information was added to this “simple” single-celled organism to form the genomes for all of life on this planet. Of course natural selection cannot work on anything that is not already there. So that means all of this information had to be added through genetic mutations, which are nothing more than copying errors in the DNA. Also, we have never observed a “simple” single-celled organism.
But I have to ask the question, if one looks at things from this evolutionary worldview, am I, Terry Read, a super human? I never developed wisdom teeth. So I did not have any wisdom teeth to have a problem with. So I must be more evolved than people that still have wisdom teeth and are having problems. Darwinists use “Darwin’s finches” as evidence for this General Theory of Evolution. The birds have different sizes and shapes of beaks and are thus classified as different species. Darwinists then extrapolate this and use it as “proof” for the General Theory of Evolution.2 So if a different size or shape of a beak makes for a different species of finch, then a different number of teeth should certainly make for a different species of human. If the Darwinists were consistent, they would classify me as a different species of human that is more advanced from an evolutionary perspective. I should be called Homo terryous.
Or there is another way to look at all of this. We can believe the Bible. Genesis 1:21 states “So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind.”3 Genesis 1:24 says “And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” 4 Genesis 5:1-2 states “When God created mankind, he made them in the likeness of God. He created them male and female and blessed them. And he named them “Mankind” when they were created.”5 The very fact that I am writing this article and you are reading it is evidence for the truth of this verse – that we are not just “another animal” or more specifically “another ape.” Do animals, including apes, contemplate why we are here or where we came from, and furthermore debate it or have written accounts of it?
2 Samuel 21 tells about a Philistine giant that David’s nephew killed. This Philistine was not only a giant, but had six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot.6 But this Philistine, while an enemy of the Israelites, was still a human being. I had a cat with six claws on each of his front paws, but he was still a cat. I talked to a woman that had four kidneys. These are just variations. So as much as I might want to look at things from a Darwinist’s perspective and classify myself as a more evolved human – Homo terryous, I must accept the biblical perspective that I am just a human like all other humans. But being created in God’s image is good enough for me.
